Overuse Injuries

Work-Related Repetitive Use Injuries

If your job requires you to repeat the same motion over and over again, you are at risk for developing overuse injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, epicondilitis and others.

If you suffer from an overuse injury that was caused or aggravated by your work duties, you may be eligible to receive workers' compensation benefits. To learn more, please contact me, attorney Tim Alvarez, for a free consultation.

Over the past 20 years, I have successfully represented factory workers, production workers, computer users, office workers and many other clients with repetitive motion injuries. If you suffer from a work-related overuse injury and live in Kansas City, Kansas; Kansas City, Missouri, or the surrounding areas, I'd like to help you, too. Call 913.232.2219 for a free consultation.

Common Overuse Injuries

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. Symptoms include pain, tingling, or numbness and weakness in the hand, wrist and forearm.  For more information on carpel tunnel syndromes, please see Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Frequently Asked Questions.

Cubital tunnel syndrome occurs when the ulnar nerve is pinched or compressed at the elbow. Symptoms include numbness, weakness and tingling of the hand and fingers.

Epicondylitis is an overuse injury that causes pain from the elbow to the wrist. If the pain is on the underside of the forearm, it is known as medial epicondylitis. If the pain is on the back side of the elbow and forearm, it is known as lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow.

Cumulative trauma injuries occur slowly over time. It's often difficult to remember when your hand or arm first began to hurt. In order to obtain benefits, I must show that injury is related to your work and that your occupation is one that involves enough repetitive motion to cause such an injury.

Why Not Hire a Respected Workers' Comp Lawyer?

Repetitive motion injury cases can be challenging. It's important that your attorney is up to the job. The Kansas City Business Journal named me to its Best of the Bar list for 2007 and 2008. I have the skills and knowledge to help you in even the most challenging workers' compensation claims.

The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely upon advertisements. This disclosure is required by rule of the Supreme Court of Missouri.
